Family resemblance

My brother Bart, sister-in-law Tracy, neice Sara, and mom Becky all joined us for a weekend at the beach house. Check out the family resemblances-same hair, same squint, same hats. As my dad would have said, "Silliniess runs in our family, practically gallops." -S

Sandy for President

Shannon's brother Bart took and titled this pic. We laughed at first, but then got to thinking. She'd be an excellent candidate. She LOVES kissing babies, and her "harumph" could be her trademark reply to anything her opponent said.

Beach House

The beach house went on the market this week, and sold in less than a day. We're glad that the buyer wants to keep the house pretty much the same, and not build a monstrosity.

Dog Days of Summer

Our annual beach party was underattended due to the threat of rain (at least we hope that's why.) But the people and dogs who did make it had a grand time. The second day, Daisy and Dempsey even managed to sit still for a second.

Office Party

We hosted a party at the beach house for the doctors from Alexandria Animal Hospital and their families. The weather was perfect, the jellyfish stayed away, and at least one partygoer really appreciated all of Mark's wind toys.

Fourth of July

On the Fourth, we spent the day with Ben, Jen, and Buckley. The boys spent the day "messing about in boats" while the girls chatted and cooked, and the dogs snoozed. After an amazing dinner, we walked (well, ran) down to the pier to watch the fireworks and the amazing parade of boat lights on the Bay.

Grog?

No, a BLOG!
wow we've really moved into the new millenium. OK so we are a little late, it seems that everyone today has a Blog, and I guess now we do too.

I've actually always wanted one, but I never felt that I had anything that important to say. Or a least that I thought anyone else would be interested in, I mean this is the internet, it's prime real-estate here on the shores of the WWW, they don't really need me clogging the bandwidth with my nonsensical rantings.

But it turns out that's not the point, the point is, that I have something to say and now I have a place to say it, and you have to read it, because it is on THE INTERNET, so it must be true. Well, okay, you don't have to read it, but here it is, even if I am the only one who ever reads it. And there is now a reason for us to have a Blog...DOG PICTURES!!! of course, I should have thought of it long ago.

But it was Shannon's brilliant idea, and now I have my place. The easiest way to become a published writer, and I can sit here and feel smug thinking that someone out there, somewhere finds what I think interesting...

...when actually all they came here for is to look at the dog pictures.

More dog picutres to come (and ramblings - sorry)
Shannon, you've created a monster,
a blog monster!

Welcome aboard!

Ahoy, maties! Welcome to ARRRGH weblog!

Okay, enough pirate-talk. Inspired by the Aderholts and Dinoias, we've decided to have our own blog. It will chronicle our adventures by land and sea, and showcase Mark's excellent pictures.
